M48 Communication Cables and Impreza Loom Adaptor

Discussion and support for MoTeC's earlier generation ECUs

M48 Communication Cables and Impreza Loom Adaptor

Postby QFR on Fri May 25, 2012 10:14 pm

Hi all,

I have just purchased an M48 ECU which was previously used on a Version 5/6 Impreza. I want to install this on our V3/4 Impreza. There is a MoTeC Loom adaptor box for the 5/6 here, can one be got for the V3/4 or the one I have converted?

Also the comms cable I see has been referred to as a PCI Cable. Can a standard serial cable be used or is it necessary to use a MoTeC cable as it looks like a standard serial cable to my uneducated eye.

Thanks

You must use a Motec cable

And you'll need a new ecu connector in the patch harness box for a 97/98 as it's totally different from a 99/00

Not sure if Motec sell these separately or not, but they are available. The first link whilst it is a 4 socket connector, can still be used for 97/98 3 plug cars. the 4 plug just has an extra socket. Or you can buy a 3 plug specific socket too.

Not sure how much a complete new adaptor would cost from Motec
