Hi,

Which analogue inputs can I use to measure the knock signal?
Is there a list with sample speeds from AV and AT inputs?

Thanks,
Ron

You can use La2 or AV inputs, former being preferable.

Any official standings about knock module and availability? C'mon MoTeC guys! Share it please, we need that medicine too! ;) ;)

This looks interesting - how "standalone" is this? I am running another ECU but I am looking for reliable knock sensing. I have a few ADC inputs that would be great for logging into my other platform. Is this unit supposed to be standalone or does it require a MoTeC box?

The module needs certain signals to operate correctly that is generated by the MoTeC ECU, I doubt that other ECU's will have them

See this link for more details

http://www.motec.com.au/aboutknockcontr ... koverview/

But to summarise. Yes, the latest Motec hundred series software can do closed loop knock control, but you need to use the motec knock module.

The knock module takes in the signal from knock sensors, as well as a knock window from a MoTeC hundred series ECU. (A knock window is an ignition timing based signal, generated by a MoTec ECU, used by the knock module to tell it to only listen for knock during a defined window based around an ignition event)

So to do this, you need
a standard knock sensor
A Hundred series MoTeC ECU
A MoTeC knock module

Is there any RRP for the SKM?

The RRP will change from region to region, (due to the usual factors, exchange rates, freight, taxes etc) so just talk to your local dealer an they will be able to give you a local RRP...

Does the standard 100 series ECU not have knock control? Meaning you can't use the factory knock signal without this extra box?

That is correct, the standard hundred series ECU wasn't designed with the hardware required to setup the appropriate frequency based signal amplification of knock sensor inputs, run the hardware signal gating, etc, etc.

To do knock control properly is a major task, and we have specially built knock control modules to perform this function, passing back to the hundred series ECU only what information it need to do the closed loop control.
