Hooking up gear position to M400

Postby lawnmower on Mon Apr 30, 2012 2:12 am

Hi,

I need to hook up the gear position to the ECU and would like to do this via an AT input and the voltage based gear detection.

I have 3 gears and each has its own soleniod so I have a seperate 12v volt feed for each gear. If I can regulate the voltage to the ECU from each solenoid it will recognise which gear is engaged right?

So can anyone tell me what I need (inline diode? etc. etc) to limit the voltage in each gear to set this up?

Thanks for your help.

Maybe one of these if it can wrap around the gear shaft?
