Stevie,
What is recommended?
Is there a different crimp tool, or is it a technique thing?

Ive no idea what tool he is using, or whether it is correct or not.

I made my own loom and just used small pliers. Rough, bit it worked ok. All the proper tools seem to be a clean fortune.

But in general they are a simple connector, so without a photo of the crimps he has made, Ive no idea why he's having such difficulty
Maybe it is a bad crimp, maybe the wire is too big, maybe it's some other problem.

I had that wire too big issue once, and then ordered a bunch of Tevzal wire.

The pliers seemed to be the best option from all the tools i had as long as you take your time but yea my problem was with wire size, tefzel wire should have been the wire i got. All working now though.
