Just ordered the 'jimstim' kit fully assembled for $99AU delivered to my door, thanks for the tip !

So is it a fixed rpm signal, or variable ? Reading the description, it looks like rpm can only be varied via laptop communication ?

Are the mag trigger wave patterns of a low voltage, or would they simulate the high clipped voltages seen as rpm rises ?

RPM is variable via pots on the board. There is one for coarse RPM and one for fine RPM. I dont know what the wave form looks like as I havent scoped it but you can choose either square wave or simulated VR output, my M48 accepts either ok. I havent tried any extreme high RPM yet but at about 8000 everything was going fine.

This is the only note I can find about the wave form: "The jumper allows the tach signal to either be a square wave signal (similar to a Hall sensor signal) or a VR signal emulation (not really VR signal-shaped but has zero crossings which works with an LM1815 circuit and the V3.0 VR conditioner)"
