Has anyone attempted to use Motec ECU or characterize this engine?
We have request from a customer to remap 2 cars for 34mm restrictor rally raid and Dakar.

UPDATE:

We have request for 5 cars at the moment. It appears the injector driver is a separate box in the engine compartment.
Perhaps we could utilize current Mx00 series for the job can't we? These are rally raid cars so customers want the power and reliability (in terms of independecne from other car electronics). Fuel consumption and eco standards are not important.

Can the M1 be used for the task?

Comments and suggestions are welcomed from anyone with the experience in diesel running.

It is common for the mx00 to drive injector drivers on petrol (gasoline) engines too.

You should probably contact Dacar in Brazil, they are one of our dealer who has a lot of experience running Diesel engines with Mx00 ECUs. Their installations are a proprietry thing and you need extra parts over and above the MoTeC ECU so there is not much direct information we can give you. Dacars developement was all done in house.

You can contact them at dacarmotorsport@dacarmotorsport.com, they are quite willing to help others with their projects but obviously not just handing out all their R and D information. :)
