Postby insomnia on Fri Nov 04, 2011 5:20 am

Hello together,
Can i use 034EFI DIS Coils with a M800 Unit?
What about the Setup Parameters?
Any advice welcome.
Thank you.

From what I gather they are just using the Pantera EFI IGN-1A ignition coil.

They can definitely be used with the Motec, although cant help on setup. But Ive seen them on a pro-mod car recently that uses Motec.

It looks like a Mercury coil but without doing a specific test on that coil I would not be confident just sending you the results for the one I have done.

Contact the distributor and ask them if they can help you with Dwell times......$1 says they probably won't know.

I can't advice with Motec parameters, but there are current vs. Dwell-time curve.
Red curve = primary current (14V)
Upper curves are secondary currents (some Dwell-times)

Hi guys,
the connector on the coil is wired like this:
A) EST HI TTL Trigger
B) EST LO TTL Gnd
C) Secondary Gnd
D) Battery Gnd
E) Battery +12v

For me it's not clear what i need to connect.
B,C,D connected to ground or is that wrong ??

More about the coil with buid-in TTL driver:
Primary Inductance 4,8 Mh
Primary Resistance 0,5 Ohms

and for sure C and D to engine ground....

a) to ign output
b) Eng 0v (sensor gnd)
c) Coil secondary gnd, to head (keep this separate!)
d) High current gnd for transistor (to B-, primary winding gnd)
e) battery B+, use same circuit as your ECU B+ if you are going to use voltage compensations for dwell.

But I know that Andy Frost is using them on Red Victor and Shane T is doing the tuning and it's all Motec
