I had this exact discussion about an hour ago...

While the factory ecu is going to be applying corrections and logged data may not be exact it is a really good diagnostics tool, if i have any issues I can see "what would the factory ecu do?"

still in the dark over what settings to use for injectors and ignition...

Progress!!

Last weekend fitted up the wideband and wired in a map sensor...

as you can see below... Toyota tipping it all in above 3000rpm since 1978...

swaped engine temp to an AV in and it seems ok, may still fit a stand alone delco sensors for ET and AIT...

managed to get it to idle with the motec controlling fuel so very happy with that!

next on the list set up a dummy coil and ignitor hooked up to the M800 and with the factory ecu running the engine locked at 10deg advance I should be able to dial the motec CRIP in easily to match the 10deg.

once thats done i'll do more work on the fuel map and then build the IGF simulator to keep the stock ecu happy before letting the m800 run the igniton...

Well I have now got it running on the Motec controlling fuel only... cold starts not bad, hot starts not bad, nice lean cruise and not so rich under power...

getting closer... (still rich up top until it gets ignition and on a dyno..

Results are in!

Motec Running fuel and ignition, 170rwkw (pulling a 97kpa on the map sensor @ WOT showing an intake restriction - could be stock AFM or stock filter box)

Only engine mods are TRD thermostat and a full exhaust and headers and of course the Motec M800!

Thank you to everyone that helped!

in about 4 weeks the Supercharger will be going on!

Good to hear. You are correct in splicing the temp sensor into an AV as they do not have a pull up. The factory input WILL have a pull-up so using a MoTeC AT puts two pull ups in the sensor circuit and therefore stuffs up the factory ECUs calibration.

Xmas card only needs to mention me. :)
