Traction controle and datalogger

Postby sphilips on Tue Aug 02, 2011 10:25 pm

Is it possible with the m800 to give a signal to the aim mxl datalogger when the traction controle is active?

I am no expert at all, so this is a mere suggestion. Adjust - General Setup - Communications - Set Up Custom Data Sets, look under TC, maybe logging one of these via CAN BUS will do what you need? Until I can afford a new, or find a well priced used, ACL I am attempting to log to a GEMS 1 gig CAN logger, and setting it up is proving a bit of a nightmare, as I am not used to this sort of thing :) When I have TC working on my M800 I will want to do something similar to yourself, so will watch for the guru's replies here.

Hi

You can define user channel 1 same as power reduction.
Define the user channel 1 as a alarm on the MXL at for exampel 25%. You then get a flashing light at power reduction over 25 %.

You can also define a table at one AUX and make it active at for example 25%. Wier the aux too the MXL and define that input as a alarm.

If CAN setup is too difficult to do use an AUX output with a Dutycycle control for an Axis that you choose, might be
TC Cut Level, Retard, or just the Power reduction level I think will be best. Keep in mind to use the Y-axis first and only when the Yaxis is occupied then the Xaxis. Not sure if its a bug or a feature. The AE86 man says its a feature :)

Fit a weak pullup (to 5v?) to the AV input of your logger and have the ECU do lowside Dutycycle control.

Or, just get a Motec logger and log the channel and drive the SLM condition from that same channel :)

It was the X axis if you were just using one axis but that has been changed now. :)

ohh, did I have it the wrong way around?
So I can use any one axis only and it`ll work?
