crank/sync errors

Postby stevieturbo on Sun Jun 12, 2011 1:54 am

M800 pnp Subaru 2002 STI

Pretty much every time the engine is revved hard we get these errors.

ref and sync, and runt error. Car appears to run fine despite these.

Is this just a filtering issue, voltage level ? clearly it is something that needs rectified ?

Steve,

I had a similar issue and spoke to Motec UK. The Runt error is a voltage being seen on the sensor signal that is below the filter level and therefore does not effect the true signal.

I did a ref/sync capture to try to identify the rouge signal, but nothing showed up on the scope.

I understand teh runt error is something that can be overlooked. But it is also coming up with ref/sync errors

Crank trigger and sensor etc are all factory,

Mind you, it also throws up injector 2 open error for some obscure reason at times,

Hi,
If it is not causing an issue I would not worry about it too much. I assume from logging the errors happen at around 6-7000rpm? Which ref/sync errors exactly?
