How many of you tune on the road?

Postby golf_bht on Tue May 31, 2011 1:44 am

Just a curiosity about car tuning. I have seen many guys in my hometown tune their car on the road.
Is it true that the tuner will have to fine tune on the road no anyway?
dynopack vs dynojet, Which one is the better choice?

Dynapack, Rototest, Engine dyno, takes the rubber balloons out of the equation :)

Dont tune on the road, use a dyno and finalize on a track. Not the road.

You cant measure changes to engine performance properly on the road.

True, But not all tuned cars see a race track. Some are mostly road cars. And for many, there arent any suitable dyno's nearby.

Sometimes road tuning is the only viable option, and I fall into that category. It isnt ideal by any means. But Ive done ok so far.

If only Motec would add a ghost trace and some easier group cell change features though ! it would make road tuning far far easier.
