Help with Tune!

Postby focus_sh1ft on Sat Apr 09, 2011 6:31 am

Hey all,

I recently purchased a car with a M400 ECU and I'm currently having issues. The car was completely fine for awhile, but now the engine is violently jerking while under acceleration. Idle is incredibly rough as well. I also checked the OEM fuse box + panel and had 2 ign related fuses blown. I doubt that matters since the Motec has it's own line off the battery though. The other thing I noticed is my ABS light is constantly on for whatever reason. It wasn't before - but I don't know how or even if it's tied into the M400. Anyways, I bought data logging to work on diagnosing the issue. Attached is a log - please take a look and tell me any potential issues you see. Some things to note:

1) The oil psi has always been unplugged, hence the diagnostic error
2) No wideband support unfortunately. AFRs are currently 13-14 cruising and high 12 during warm idle. A little rich, but nothing to cause serious concern.

Made some progress with problems today. It seems I'm having sync signal issues. The three errors I had as soon as I began constant cranking was "Error Sync Signal," "Error Sync Runt" and "Error Sync Lo Level." It seems as though there is interference with the sync signal. Please let me know what you guys think - I've attached an updated log and ref/sync capture data.

(Replace the .ld extention on the ref_sync1 file with .rsc2)

What type of car/engine is it, it has a strange ref/sync pattern. I need the tuning file for it to see how you have everything set up. You can email it to me at mark.mccoy@motec.com.au

Mark,

Can't you use "Tools/View Device Config..." in I2 to get the device config used to log the data. I do that all the time.

Hi David,
The file has a password on it so it will not let you view it from a log file.
