BMW S1000RR

Postby insomnia on Sat Jan 29, 2011 10:50 am

Hi guys,
I want to use a M800 on the new sportbike from BMW S1000RR, but i read a lot about big issue
with DBW. communication between MoTeC and BMW Electronic throttle body is very difficult.
Before i spend a lot of money in this project without success, i need some advice from the MoTeC
team himself or from people who try this to know the real problem....
Thank for your help

I belive it is quite challenging because BMW controls the throttle bodies using a CAN protocol. However, I believe there is a work-around. Check out the Durbahn website: http://durbahn.de/Web-BMWS1000RR.htm I also know that they were running a BMW in the BSB series using an M1 ECU. They may also be able to tell you how (if at all) they got that working.

Currently MoTeC only recommend controlling the BMW S1000RR drive by wire motor with an M1 ECU, the use of an M800 series ECU is not supported by MoTeC.

The M1is not yet on general release so, unfortunately, it is not possible to supply one to customers who wish to run the S1000RR.

Keep checking the website in the coming months for further information on the M1 release date.
