what edges are you using in your setup? still getting the sync err?


looks like an inverted mode17. Im sure if you have the correct edge on the REF signal you can try both edges on the sync and it should sync up.

Iain,

Mode 8 (TWO MISSING TEETH ONCE PER CYCLE)
is correct for -8 as it is a 2 stroke mode and a engine cycle is 360 degree, This mode should sync up and get the engine running without the sync sensor.

I would disconnect the injectors & remove the spark plugs then put a timing light on the engine to confirm the timing. If the timing light stops working or dosent work either the ref edge is incorrect or there is a problem with the power going to the coils.

If it works then the crip can be set. Make sure you see the test advance value on the crank.

If the spark works then its a fueling problem
