Injector current setup

Postby Polux RSV on Tue Aug 17, 2010 8:34 am

What will happend if I set the current too low in General setup->fuel->setup ????
Is it possible the injector will not completely open, resulting in lower fuel flow ?????

No Motec guy to explain if injectors are current limited or only PWM driven ?

You answered your own question!

The fuel flow will not be consistent as the hold current may not keep the injector open.

Thanks. I suspected this behaviour because changing values in fuel tables had no effect on lambda readings.

But as an electronics engineer, I still would like to know if the injectors outputs use FET transistors with PWM, or transistors with programmable current limiter

If you scope the injector output you will see how the current limiting is done.

Thanks Mazi, exactly what I needed to understand parameters meaning.
