Help with speed sensor

Postby I have no idea. on Fri Jul 30, 2010 10:59 am

I’m sure somebody on this forum can help me with this but it has me stumped.

What I have is a Falcon that has a M600 in it. My problem is that I’m trying to use the speed sensor that was being used as an input to the AIM sport dash. The sensor is a Honeywell 17mm picking up on the 4 bolts on the tail shaft/pinion flange.

What I have so far is that i’m using the Dig2 input and have a signal and have done the speed calibration. The problem that I can’t sort out is that once the tail shaft gets some rpm into it the speed starts to fluctuate. Jumping from 80-190kmh when the car is moving around 90kmh. But it will do it all speeds

From what I can work out is that because the 4 bolts are not evenly spaced on the tail shaft it is causing the speed to do what it is. But I can’t work out how to stop it!!!

Thanks in advance.
I have no idea.

Hello,
The ECU will always assume the bolts are evenly spaced, if they are not there is nothing you can do but make them evenly spaced. You may need to make another trigger disc for the sensor to read from.
