A throttle kicker will help.
Is a throttle kicker legal in your class?

This is the thing you have to live with when you run anti-lag without DBW. Im sure you might get it better by either closing the throttle a bit (anti lag will not be as aggressive and will work less, especially if RPM is higher) or you could set the Idle Throttle Lo and Idle Throttle Hi settings to tell the ECU from where to where should it PROGRESSIVELY set the RPM limit. I think in your case you have aggressive anti lag with a big air bypass (throttle opening) and your Hi and Lo settings must be quite close together which makes the engine go from limiting to full spark in a small throttle opening span.

The best way to drive a car with anti lag and no DBW in an open section is to keep in short shifting and not using the throttle. Just keep on shifting up and let it run on the air bypass. It runs quite strong if its bypassing a lot. This way it will not jerk, and if you feel that you are not going fast enough you will be sure that the engine will handle the extra air and not accelerate too wildly if you just touch the throttle. Keep the gear that you run in as high as possible

I hope it helps

Kicker is not allowed in Gr N.
It is dangerous, but try to maintain ALS activation as low as it is possible. The next thing you can do is retarding ignition at low throttle (up to 5%) 2k to ~3k RPM in the negative numbers.
Do not drive with pressed clutch, because you will destroy axial bearings on crankshaft.

When you have an engine with DBW, you can have normal idle throttle when the Anti Lag is not needed.
When the AL is needed, you can open the throttle as much as you like for as long as you like, thats the advantage. So you could drive normally and have very aggressive AL when it does turn on.

On an EVO 8 you will have to go through the installation notes and see if it would be possible to spare AUX1 and2 and also 3 more AVs for the DBW setup. Not sure what it would take, but it could be possible to do.
