ok i found the function, but it does not tell me what it does or how it works, its just a polarity selection for the switch, i have a clutch switch i could use .
But i would need to knwo what and how it works before i go into trying it :) , thanks guys

You use the same button to enable the launch control and the ORB function.

that would be a good idea but i still need to know what actually happens when the over run boost comes into play, what does it actually do to the tune , :)

It does nothing to the Tune of the engine. You set up the Retard table and cut table to get the boost you want. There is help on the subject if you go to the tables/ settings and press the F1 key.

i went to the parameters section and all it had was to choose the polarity of the switch, it doesn't even have any help when pressing f1

I suppose ill have to look into it some more but i cant seem to find the table to adjust the timing , thanks :)

You now looking at dual rpm control control?
The polarity of the switch sets when dual RPM is active,
when the switch on and is grounded and the digital input is low voltage
or
the switch is off and the digital input is HI voltage

The tables I was talking about are in the Boost enhancement section.

I would recomend going to a MoTeC dealer/Tuner to set up antilag as you can quickly damage a turbo if the settings are incorrect.

ahh sweet, ill have a dig around again, so far ive managed to do everything myself so this is more of a new challenge :lol:
Ill look at the boost enrichment table to see what its about,
My drama most of the time with the motec is finding where everything is, im used to dealing with microtech :oops:

So ill have a look at the tables and see if i understand whats going on,
Ps damaging a turbo is part of the fun of learning it yourself :) , its not the end of the world, as i got a vac line sucked into the turbo when i did its first tune up on the dyno one week before i was to do my first race :oops: :lol:

Just to completely clarify.

The digital inputs on an M4/M2R are internally pulled up to 5v. To make the digital input work you use a switch to connect it to 0v (Chassis ground is ok but not prefered). The ECU is set so that if the voltage on the dig input goes from above 3v to below 2v it is on....generally you switch it to ground so the voltage change is from the 5v pull up to 0v.

The polarity simply says is 5v on or off, for example if you wanted to push the button to make the dual RPM limiter come on or do you want the button push to make it go off.

Do not switch the dig inputs to 12v as this simply make the ECU see 5v and then 12v when you push the button...remember it is looking for thw voltage to go below 2v.

The dual RPM Limit function is designed to hold a lower RPM when the button is pushed. The control is based on the Main RPM Limiter settings. The randomizer sets the pattern in which the cylinders/rotors are cut, it is random based on some pretty weird maths. The sparks will not be erratic they just will not be there.

Once you let the button go the RPM limit will increase at the RPM Rise Rate, basically to allow you to set a steady rise of RPM so you do not instantly light the tyres up. If you set it to "0" then the function goes instantly back to the main limit RPM.

To get the retard and extra fuel you could link the button into either the Aux V or Aux T input and do a fuel and ignition trim when the button is pressed but you need a bit of wiring and some resistors. But as mentioned before the Anti Lag function could be used.

thanks heaps for your explanations to my questions Mr MarkMc :D
Im about to go and retune the car for 30psi next week or so as we have hired out the track for a private test an tune next month, ill also be asking the guys about the other tables for the timing retards and such. Hopefully i can get better results coming my way :) .
Ps i haven't bought the upgrades for my m2r , so its been only running on the free data/lambda , so really i would have to purchase the advanced gear and logging to go ahead with the boost overrun setup :) .

So far i have figured out how all this works , so its great to be able to learn new tricks for this ole dog :lol:
