DC Servo Problems

Postby Ben-S on Sun Feb 28, 2010 11:32 am

I'm having a problem setting up a servo motor on an M800. The problem seems to be the hi/lo setting under the sensor 0 menu. When the servo is at its highest position the current value is around 317. I can change the setting in the inputs screen so that the DC servo position channel reads 100 when all the way out and 0 when all the way in but it seems the ecu ignores that. Instead if I put a number in the table (50 as an example) it will move the servo until it reads 50 in the hi/lo table when in reality it's only at about 15.

In case anyone else ever has this problem it turns out that you cannot run the servo position channel through any expander/dash because the hi/lo setting for the servo (and i would assume tps, stepper, etc) does not work through the can bus. Swapped the pin over to an ECU AV input and it worked great.
