RER TOP BEAMS MR2 3SGE ROTREX

Postby MANDALAY on Sun Jan 10, 2010 11:13 pm

Need some advise before i go out and buy my M800,
Ill be running a Supra fuel pump.In the Supra they have a FP computer connected to the ECU . The way it works is the FP gets omly 2.5 volt signal when on idle 1000 rpm and 5 volts when started and over 1000 rpm.
Can the Motec do this and how ? This sucker draws 18 amps so i want it low when not on idle.
Next will the MOTEC AS A STAND ALONE run everything the stock ECU does like AIR CON, VSV etc ?
Many thanks guys

Sorry?
The fuel pump receive a positive voltage of 2.5 volts OR 5 volts ?

<I think>The way it works in MR2 3SGTE is that there is a relay switch with two output, one of the two output has a resistor pack install on it.

Depends on the current RPM reading from the ECU, the ECU can switch the relay to go through the circuit with resistor pack hence lower voltage to the pump at low RPM and switch to the circuit without resistor pack and give full voltage to the fuel pump at high RPM.

"I think" that too...
That's why I asked about this very strange thing... ;)

Yes as desciribed above about the resistor pac.
So how can i do the same thing with the Motec ?
Ild prefer not to use the resistors. Can it be done ? How about solid state relays

Pwm and a SS Relay, you can then do a 2 axis table and have it quiet at idle and ramping up as needed.

I run 2 pumps and do it this way with the 2nd pump only active on boost.
