M48 communication issues

Postby mysunnshine on Fri Feb 12, 2010 1:24 pm

I just purchased a pair of communication cables( P/N 63003) for my M48 and I can not get either one of them to connect to the ECU. I borrowed a cable from another tuner and his cable connects using the same laptop. So if I can connect with his cable and my laptop, I'd venture to say that I have a pair of cables that do not work. The laptop I'm using has a direct serial connection and I am not using a USB to serial adapter. I did see that the resistance value on the same pin of both cables(the one that works and the two that do not) do have a different resistance value. Any ideas of what's going on?

Hi,

Unusual problem you have there. The M48 definitely requires a PCI cable which is the part number you have mentioned in your post. Are these the cables that you have there? (see attachment)

If they are then you should contact your dealer or MoTeC USA for replacements.
