engine logs

Postby ElectronSpeed on Thu Jan 07, 2010 9:52 am

Per my memory, In Interpreter, I was able to view the engine logs that were configured in the dash. This was viewed in the statistics screen. I can not find how this is done in I2. Does anyone else know where this function is now? The key thing I am after is engine hours for lifing the engine. I would prefer not to resort to the more brute force approach of directly logging it every second.

thanks,

Well, this is one thing that hasnt really carried over into i2 from interpreter, so you cant view them in i2.

You can log your engine log, engine hours etc by logging the engine hours channel, after turning it on in the manager, under 'functions / engine log setup'

But, you can view the engine log by going to the "/Online/view/engine log"

here you can see the engine log graph, the engine hours that meet your engine log conditions, how many revolutions the engine has done under your conditions.

Jamie,

Thanks for the feedback.

I'll tell the customer that he is justified (this time) in installing Interpreter on his new computer.

Interestingly, the help file in the ADL3 implies this still exists in i2: "Note that the Engine Log is also attached to the main logged data each time it is unloaded and can be viewed using the I2 Data Analysis software."

For my work, I assume I will take the file size hit and add Eng Hours to the logged channels. If at the end of the weekend I also "To retrieve the engine log from the ADL3 and store in a file
- Click Save As". Could I view it? Semi obviously, the goal would be to get the histograms which would cover all of the separate log files.

thanks,
