Expander Thermocouple

hai all,

I got an expansion unit to connect with 8 thermocouples (connect to T/C pin, Ex1TC1 - TC8). I wonder why there is temperature reading even though im not connected any TC yet.
How should I set it to zero?

FYI, the current setup now, from the expander unit, I extend with thermocouple extension cable to a thermocouple miniature connector and leave it open without any TC connected.

You will be seeing the reading from the Cold Junction Compensation Sensor. This is applied to the TC inputs either by the external CJC inputs (if connected) or by the internal sensor. You should be seeing a temperature around ambient.
