i have a little question. :oops: I was told it was possible to do this manipulation 8-)

it s possible use AVCR for siwtch multi config or use for other ??

I was running an AVCR when I first got my M800 and was hesitant to make the change but after speaking with the MoTeC boys they convinced me the M800 could do everything the AVCR can + some and I haven't looked back.

I am not sure that I understand exactly what you are wanting to do but the M800 can control the boost on your car, there is no need to use an external controller.

Hi Stephane,

1. To switch to the alternative multiconfig slots you need to wire your AT5 & AT6 inputs to ground through switches. That way you have a total of 4 different setups. Boost, fuel, ignition, VVT, corrections, fuel, etc. etc.

2. The M800 is far more flexible and far more faster than any boost controller on the market, so no point using boost controller to control the boost. Once you try it with Motec you will never would want to go back to the stone age :) Compare your logs with the boost controller and Motec controlling the boost (provided its properly setup). You can use the solenoid from this boost controller with the Motec. Its working frequency is 25Hz. BTW its a good solenoid and very universal.

The PID would generally depend on your boost control system setup. I would start with 0.6, 0.1, 0.1 for the PID values.
Its good practice to set your desired boost and normal duty tables to the RPM x TH based tables and fill them accordingly with the values (for duty cycle) close enough for your required boost levels. If boost is jumping a lot (usually may happen in higher gears 4-5-6) reduce P by 0.1-0.2 and perhaps ID by 0.05. Also its helpful to set integral max/min limits to +/- 15,20.

Is there a howto on setting up Motec Boost Control with this particular solenoid?

Basically, to get myself started, I wired in the AVCR solenoid to one of the aux output and under 'Aux Output Functions', I configured function to "1", working frequency to "25", polarity and output mode to "0" and set the aux table to "0". Under 'Boost Control Function', I set all the compensation tables to "0" and the aim boost table to "0" as well. I used your PID values as a starting guide. I'm curious to know why the AVCR solenoid is pulsing very rapidly even during idling now. I thought it might be a polarity or output mode issue but changing their value didn't helped.

Works for me using an AVCR Solenoid, this is after spending some time getting the Normal position table set correctly.

I can use the existing solenoid duty cycle curve from the AVCR controller and use it to populate the normal position table. Since I'm trying to use closed loop boost control, I will need to set the "Aim Boost" table with the actual desired boost pressure. My question is whether this "Aim Boost" table uses relative or absolute pressure? My MAP sensor is configured to use PSI and if I want to hit 30PSI, do I put in 30PSI in the cell or 44.5PSI?

The Aim Boost Table is Absolute pressure. I would recommend that you calibrate your sensor to use kPa as this will be a lot easier to work with than PSI. Also if you transmit channels via CAN to another device (ADL/SDL etc) the MAP values will be scaled correctly because the ADL/SDL will assume that MAP is in kPa and not PSI.
