M48 RS232 Transmission

So we have a wireless streaming unit for rs232 signals which the Motec M48 apparently uses. However, since the motec computer connection cable only uses 3 wires, that's causing some issues with the transmitter which is expecting a true 8 wire RS232 connection.

Is there any way to make this work?

Hi,

RS232 communication on the M48 has no flow control, handshaking etc. I think that your device may be setup to do a different protocol. Posting the user manual and your layout details may help you get more help from the forum.
