284.909 MPH in an 89 Pontiac Turbo TA V6 - with an M8!!

thats right folks. First half of a new record in D/Blown Gas Coupe.

274 inch Duttweiler Twin Turbo on gas runs 284.909 out the back door at 22 PSI using M8 for traction control with CDI-8 .

If only Motecca were around to see this.

Did you guys get the CNG Beast figured out?? What a beautiful Bonneville Car. I must say that is a top notch effort by that team.

On the record back-up run (we did 323 first pass), the clutch let go as he shifted to 2nd. A bummer, as he was really putting the power down (the best acceleration we had seen yet).

There was a record set in the class (Blown Gas Streamliner) at the meet (330 mph), so we'll have to step up on our next visit.
