M800/E888 & CJC1/2

Postby killerbee on Thu Sep 24, 2009 5:29 am

I have looked in the manual and couldn't find what I was looking for. I have an E888 that is set up for 8 EGTs and has the two CJC sensors wired in. Each cylinder bank has its own enclosure and associated CJC sensor. But it is not obvious which CJC is applied to what EGT channel. So how are things arranged ? And is it fixed or configurable ? The E888 is connected to the M800 via the CAN bus.

Cold Junction compensations are performed using external sensors or the
E888 internal temperature sensor, according to the following rules:
• If only one of the two external cold junction compensation sensors (CJC1
or CJC2) is present then that sensor is used for compensations on all
thermocouple inputs.
• If both of the two external cold junction compensation sensors are present
then sensor CJC1 is used for compensations on TC1 to TC4, and sensor
CJC2 is used for compensations on TC5 to TC8.
• If neither of the two external cold junction compensation sensors are
present then the internal temperature sensor is used for compensations
on all thermocouple inputs.
