Laptime Reset at 5min with ADL2

Postby Robin Poenisch on Mon Sep 07, 2009 4:46 pm

Hi,

having problem with two ADL2 on Nurburgring. Laptime resets at 4:59min and continues counting at 0:00min. So on the finish line we get laptimes about 3:00min instead of 8:00min.
Whats the problem? I can't find a mistake in the config...

We tried different DM versions. 4.42D3 and 4.50T, but no change with this problem.

thanks for your help

Robin,
in version 4.42, we changed running lap time to a 32 bit number which should have fixed this problem. I have the release version going on my desk, and can see up to 9:59 on the display (right and bottom checked) as well as more than 15 minutes showing in monitor channel.

Have you ensured that you are also upgrading your device firmware when changing configurations?

Try it again using the latest release, update the firmware and it should work.

Thank you for your answer Jamie, but we tried the above mentioned versions and also upgraded the firmware according to the versions. Could there be a problem with using "reference lap" and "lap gain/loss"? Could you please check this? I have no further idea for that problem...

can you please send me your configuration, as I can't seem to see that here. Perhaps it is to do with your setup? I'm not sure.

Ok, I see the problem. It has been added to the problem tracking system.

This will be repaired in an upcoming manager release.

Robin,
I have gone back into out problem tracking system, and although your issue is there, it still isn't scheduled for repair. I am sorry and do understand that this is going to cause you some difficulty, but at present, we don't have enough staff to get this issue resolved in before some of the other items also awaiting a fix.

I have just asked that it move up the priority list, and with a bit of luck, it will be looked at shortly.

Regards

Jamie,

I do understand that this issue has a low priority because we are probably the only guys who have laptimes over 5mins (Nurburgring Nordschleife). But escpecially on that track it would be cool to use the lap gain/loss feature.

Whatever, season starts at middle of march and I'll check daily the MoTeC website for software updates ;)

I must admit that I am very jealous that you have such a fantastic track to race on, nothing like that here!

Thanks for your understanding on this, I will continue to try to get the fix slid in amongst some of the other work being done. Ill notify you personally when it is fixed.

I am sure my time at the ring would be well over 5-minutes.
