Suggested settings for RB26 Skyline idle control valve?

Postby Chris Wilson on Fri Aug 28, 2009 8:58 pm

Can anyone give me some base settings for the stock, main idle control valve (2 wire) on a Nissan RB26 DETT Skyline engine please? I am using an M800. The test outputs works the valve, but it's VERY quiet, unlike the very NOISY Delco boost control valve! Is that normal? The engine hasn't run yet. Thanks.

Hi Chris,

I use following on our GTRs.

Func: 3
Freq: 155 (measured with scope on R33)
Pol: 0
Out mode: 0

There is also air adjustment screw on the valve or near it (don't remember exactly)
which you can use to alter idle airflow if required. If engine is modified (capacity, cams etc) it will need more air to idle which the valve may not provide for.

The valve is quiet, so normally you won't hear it.

Regards
Alex
