DBW4

When the DBW4 is used for Dual DBW motors, may the other 4 av`s that are left be used for regular voltage measurement and transmitted to the ECU via CAN?

Are the digital inputs functional on the DBW4? Are they transmitted via CAN?

Thanks

Hi Martin,

The AV's not used for DBW feedback are transmitted on CAN and so can be used as general purpose AV's. Note there are only 8 AV inputs on the DBW-4.
The 6 digital inputs statuses are also transmitted on CAN at 50hz so can be used for switch inputs, but not for frequency measurement.

I would like to use the unassigned AV and Digital inputs of the DBW4 for functions within the M880, but it is not clear to me how those signals are transmitted over CAN to the M880. Specifically, I ahd understood that these signals would be received by the M880 just like those from an expander. However, the DBW4 inputs do not show up as Ex AV and Ex Digital inputs even though the DBW4 receive (and transmit) setup has been completed in the Comms menu.

Can someone help? Unfortunately the manual is a bit sparse on this point. I should add that the bike is working just fine with the DBW4 and the M880 is otherwise receiving status updates from the DBW4.

I actually tested this functionality instead of just reading our internal documentation.
Unfortunately I miss interpreted the document, The DBW4 does not transmit the raw sensor values from each pin.

Sorry if this has caused any inconvenience...

Hello
I just have a few questions about the DBW4 with a M800 on a V8 Engine with two Throttlebodies.
I dont see TP position on the M800.
How should the sensor setup for TP and for TP2 selected(AV1?).
In the DBW4 i have adjusted and calibrated the two Throttlebodies.
Rawsignal from both is shown on the DBW4 software but not on the M800.

There is no 'Throttle position' channel in this setup.

You will instead Have 'Throttle position A' and 'Throttle position B' channels which come in on CAN from the DBW4

There is no Throttle Position input setup to be done in the M800
