PDM30 ignition power & auto start

Postby whrdnsx on Tue Dec 30, 2025 1:34 pm

I've got M150, PDM30 & keypad.

I've got some things working albeit in a pretty basic configuration whilst I slowly get my head around setting it up.

I've got Ignition/Injector power on one keypad button & cranking/starter solenoid on another button.

ECU & C127 is powered up with Master switch on (it's a bare bones track car)

Is it possible for the cranking/starter button have 3 functions? for example, a simple one press to turn ignition power on or off and a press & hold for cranking (with ignition power on or off) & when the engine is running a press to turn the engine/ignition off?

I've attached my basic config in case.

any help is appreciated.

Hi,

Whilst this is possible, I wouldn't recommend it. I would have a dedicated button for the starter, and another for the ignition toggle on/off. Having them both on the same button can lead to issues where you are trying to start the engine but the ignition is getting toggled off at the same time.

I configured this on a PDM15 with a physical button.
I removed the functionality after a while. Like Stephen said, it got too confusing to be worth the hassle.
The two button suggestion make more sense, when I get me car back from the fabricator I will be implementing it.

Out of interest my buttons are mounted in the engine bay...there isn't enough room in a typical UK single garage to keep running round to the ignition switch when the engine starts ticking over at 4000RPM with no exhaust manifolds etc (it's on youtube if you're bored!).

Ive got another question if someone can give me some tips?

I'm trying to have a Fuel pumpout button on the Keypad.

Ive got 3 x 8amp outputs for one in tank fuel pump which is controlled via can from M150. I can't work out how to add the keypad button to control the output as well?

I can make both work independently but i can't seem to be able to combine the 2.
I'd like to make it so the pumpout keypad button only works if the engine is not running.

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi,

This is the lift pump control for my car.

Function.Fuel.Prime is from the keypad and Function.Fuel.Prime.Rear is from a momentary switch in the boot of the car.

CAN.Fuel.Pump.Primary is the fuel pump request from the M1.
