Maths based only on valid laps / only on fastest lap

Postby steven.casaer on Sat Mar 14, 2026 3:22 am

is there a way to make math channels use only the data from the fastest lap in a run? or, only from Valid laps?
I want to get statistical values (e.g. eng temp or tire temp MAX or AVG) of the fastest lap only, which is not necessary the same as the statistical value of that parameter over the whole run.

Have you considered using reports instead of math channels? Reports operate over different ranges, including laps, segments, and corners. The statistics will be performed for all of the entities, and the highest and lowest values will be highlighted. You can get Min / Max / Average, etc.

yes, but for what I need to do here, that is no option.
I have an external software that reads info from the LDX files to generate a report of an event, season, ....
so from multiple files.
that system allows to activate a math library with stats.
so to have e.g. topspeed from the fastest lap, or highest eng temp in the fastest lap, or just highest temp in the run, without taking into account high(er) temps in pit, I would like to rule out untrusted laps.
for a report as you say, that is straightforward of course, but I need to do it in math.
