Air Temp and Baro Press Comp...

Postby JoeMag on Wed May 28, 2025 5:51 am

Through a little research (read ChatGPT), I found out that the M48 does an Air Temp correction and Baro pressure correction automatically. Is this true? If so...

1. Air Temp Comp: says you can fine tune with comp table. Does that mean if the Air temp fuel comp table is zero'ed the M48 will do the correction based on its internal logic?

2. Baro Pressure: I have Baro Pressure on AuxV. How do I setup so M48 knows that so it can do its timing and fuel comp? Similar question to above -- should I zero AuxV fuel and ign comp table?

thx

ChatGPT has zero experience setting up and tuning a an M48 ECU. All the relavent information is in the help that you access with the F1 key. From memory there are compensation tables that you can fill out to effectively provide the correct compensation. However it's not anymore automatic than using the fuel table to determine the pulse width of fuel to be injected. It's only as good as the tuning. The F1 help will suggest values that work for most setups.

If you are not using a MAP sensor then simply connect the barro sensor to the map sensor input and then use the MAP channels for barro compensation.
