M400 running v6 Ford

Can anyone tell me if it’s possible to use the M400 to run a V6 no distributor using 3 ignition coils and waste spark and 36 minus 1 crank sensor but no cam sensor and no provision to fit a cam sync.

Hi,

Using the Synced Once per Rev mode, this can be done.

Sync Once per rev Modes

24 : 4 cylinder 4 stroke synced once per rev
36 : 6 cylinder 4 stroke synced once per rev (M600 & M800 only)
48 : 8 cylinder 4 stroke synced once per rev (M800 Only)
612 : 12 cylinder 4 stroke synced once per rev (M800 Only)

These modes are designed for 4 stroke engines that are synced once per
rev.

The Fuel injector outputs are fired once per engine rev in a
semi-sequential fashion. The injector outputs are fired in pairs, except
in the case where there are more cylinders than injector outputs in
which case the injectors are wired in pairs which gives the same effect.
In all cases the injectors should be wired in the same manner as if they
were for full sequential operation.

Since the sync only occurs once per engine rev the ignition outputs must
be used in a wasted spark mode (or single coil with distributor) as the
ECU cannot tell which half of the engine cycle it is on.

Hi,

Wire it as a 6 Cylinder if you have the outputs available, it is treated more as a 2 stroke 6 cylinder.
