Heat Block?

Postby 951driver on Wed May 01, 2024 3:19 am

I want to build four rectangles containing 16 "strip" rectangles which change color based on temperature. These will be used to take CAN data from IR tire temp sensors and display an image of the tire temperatures measured by the IR sensor.
RaceLogic has a tool called "Heat Block" which makes this fairly easy: the CAN channel can be assigned and the block shows four different colors dependent on the temperature from the IR channel.
I can make the larger rectangle and the strips fairly easily, and have the .dbc file to import the CAN data, but I'm not seeing how to change the color based on the temperature value. Ideally I could build a similar tool to populate each of the strips.
If I've made myself clear, does anyone have some advice or insight?
Many thanks!

This is an old post, but the way I do this is to generate a gradient image in photoshop (For Example Green on one side gradually fading to yellow in the middle, then fading to red on the opposite side.)

Then use this image in an 'XY Translate' in Display Creator. You can also use the image as the needle in a horizontal or vertical bar graph, and set the segment fills to transparent and hide the tick marks and values.

Glad I looked over here today!
I’ll give that a try. Another suggestion I received was to use the switch case system which might work.
Now I need a day to concentrate on just doing this!
Thanks for the suggestion!
