Ref sensor

Postby Jagil on Thu May 14, 2009 9:07 am

Hi,

It is possible with M400 configure this trigger wheel:

The trigger wheel has 57 teeth, then it has 2 linked teeth and then 1 missed tooth, and i can't find it in "Ref/sync mode".

or should i get a comun 60-2 trigger wheel?

Thank you.

This looks similar to the trigger wheel on some Renault engines. It may be possible to make this work using mode 7 or 8 but it would be easier to tell from a scope capture from the sensor.

Hi,

The mode 7 and 8 are for two missed, aren´t they?. And this trigger wheel is not so.

In the following scope you can view the cam and crank sensors:

Thank you.

If you work out the tooth widths you will find the wheel is 60-2

With it wired to the polarity shown on your scope capture Mode 7 should work if you use a falling trigger for both ref and sync.

What engine is this?

I would think it`ll work but you might have to reduce the Tooth ratio slightly from the normal 50%
