Cooling fan wont start. newbie alert!

Postby justineurope on Sun Sep 29, 2024 10:14 pm

So got the car running, discovered faulty head gasket, rebuilt head and its running again. now It runs for longer it gets up to temperature but the fan is not kicking in as programmed when the water temp reaches 92 degrees. The fan works when the test is run. I'm assuming somewhere in the programming a condition is not being met but for the life of me I cannot find it.

What does the table Coolant Fan 1 Duty Cycle Coolant Temperature look like? You could have a single value (no axis enabled) with a value of 100. (or any non-zero value since this is a switched output).

As David said, The Duty Cycle needs to be set to 100% with a switched output.

Can't tell, is the engine running when you took that screen shot?

Here it is. Pretty sure its the same as the one you sent me a while ago. I don't think i've messed with it other then trying to get fan to work. Just a reminder. using the test function the fan runs. I may have set the trigger temperature low to test rather then at near boiling.

Thanks in advance
