Not Displaying Properly

Discussion and support for discontinued MoTeC ECUs, including M8

Not Displaying Properly

Postby kotaro-jpn on Thu Sep 19, 2024 5:51 pm

Sorry for my poor English, I used Google Translate.

I use M4 and M8 in Japan. It's an old Motec product, but it works fine.

If anyone knows how to solve this, please let me know.

There's no problem with the fuel and ignition adjustment numerical screen, but when I press "G" to display the graph, the vertical and horizontal axes become strange.

I'd like to explain with images, but I don't know how to publish the images.

Someone please help me.

Hi,

Is this what it looks like?

Are you running the EMP natively in an older version of Windows, or are you using an emulator like DOSBox? It sounds like there is an incompatibility with the graphics setup that you have an the EMP.

If it looks more like this, then use the F8 function key to scroll through the different views available.

Thank you very much for your reply.

The graph has been distorted so much that the values are completely unreadable.

I would like you to see the image first, but how can I make it public?

I have the image, but when I click on "img" at the top of the entry field,

it just says and I can't select the image.

My motec environment is

M8V54 & V60

M4V60.JP & V61 & V62

My PC is IBM R50 WinXPHOME 32bit

I also have M48V45 software installed because I used it a long time ago

When I press "G" the units on the graph's X and Y axes become unreadable, which is the same for all software.

Hi,

Save the image and then use the Upload Attachment option under the reply window. The Img button requires that the file is hosted elsewhere and you are making a link to it.

Thank you!
I figured out how to upload.

When I press the "G" button on my PC, this message appears.
Pressing "F8" doesn't change the symptom.

That looks like a Video driver incompatibility that is preventing the data from being displayed correctly. Make sure that you have up to date drivers for the video card, you may need to play with some of the video settings to get this to work dcorrectly. This is not something that we can help with.

Thanks for your reply.

I've also tried several different display drivers.
I tried the standard Windows driver and the dedicated driver, but there was no improvement.
There are no problems with other Windows apps,
and there are no problems with MOTEC apart from the graph display.
Considering that pressing "G" makes the window full screen even when it's small in CMD,
I feel like some display setting is changing on the MOTEC side when it displays "G".

Dear Stephen,
I will continue to adjust the display settings and display driver settings, so please let me know the details of the display settings when you press "G".
