I hesitated to call it a bug, I appologize. But I would like a feature where the deleted CAN templates had their active channels marked on an "pending available" list when they were removed. And when a new template was added, it checked the "pending available" list as well as the global "available" list.

Advantages to starting with a new M1 template file, is channel name changes like Engine RPM to Engine Speed are already handled, meaning less work to do.

The other alternative is to start fresh with a template designed for the M1, this is done by going to File | New and selecting the M1 template.

I did do a fresh template in the current dash for the M1 but with the 601h9 software I am unable to select the pdm variants, as well as the gps.. I have tried to upgrade the firmware to a newer version but failed.. Is it something I can do say like one version of firmware at a time or is this dash too old to update?? I am trying everything I can thing of at this point..

Also another question. I have a folder full of comms configs, but the software only recognizes a .cc8 at the ending of the file.. so when I go to add a com to the list on the new m1 config, it only shows the 4 abs one and the one m1 com config file.. Is there a work around for this as well?

And I would like to send the GPS data to the m1 via can as well... so I need that config as well..

Hi,

There should be no reason that you cannot upgrade the firmware to the latest version, we have old Dashes here for testing that are constantly having up and down grades done to them.

The Dash Manager should have automatically upgraded the comms templates to the latest version when it was installed, it will also leave a version of the old files as well. I have files ranging from cc2 to cc9 on my laptop. The cc version rolls occasionally, usually with a step change of firmware so that the templates keep up with the changes made. Are all of the files in the same directory? If they are not in the default directory then the Dash Manager may not find them.

I have attached the GPS to M1 templates.

Ok spent about 4 hours on the car, have the dash updated to the 6.40J software, and a sample M1 config in it... I took some time to clean up the original config for the dash to include the M1, ltc1.. Can you kind Sirs please look at it and let me know if you would change anything.. I am not a electrical engineer, I am a grease monkey by trade.. Thank You.

Have you tested those PDM alarms? Is the goal to show the device that is in overcurrent? I'm not sure they would stay on for 2 seconds with an overcurrent condition.

Also, you are calculating ground speed and drive speed from GPS. That may be OK, but you are also logging 4 wheelspeeds from the ECU. It's might be better to use those wheelspeed channels as the input to the ground speed / and drive speed calculations.

I have not tested the pdm alarms as of yet.. they were in the original config that came in the car when we received it.. I may end up just removing them as well, as the driver does not need them..

I am not sure on how the ground speed is calculated, I think it is using the lf wheel speed info from the can. I am also looking at having the vss signal from the ecu logged as well for launch control strategies later down the line.

I took the original config, and removed all the M800, and MDC stuff out of it, and added the M1 can to see if this would work. I still have to get in touch with John Reed to see if my ACD data can be also imported from the M1 to the dash.. I am learning as i go with the C125 at the moment.. Thank You for all the help and advice...

So I spent another chunk of time this morning on the car, playing with the dash config. I can see all the M1 data in the monitor channels section. But I am not seeing any of the pdm info at all. I also was in the M150 and there is no gps data via the can, only timeout.. SO question being is in the dash config I have can1 has the pdm and gps stuff, and can2 has the M1 stuff... Do I need to swap the comm configs around like the gps to m1 to can 2???

Hi,

I am presuming that you are only using a single CAN Bus in the M1, and that this is the same Bus that the LTC, PDM and C125 are also one. I have made some changes to the attached file, can you load it and test it thanks.

I am using a single buss for all the items except the LTC is on bus 1 in the M1, and everything else is on bus 2 in the M1..

I took some time before work this morning and loaded your modified config file, and THANK YOU..... Now everything is there and working.. Which leads me to ask why does it work on the can 2 template vs the can 1? I was going to try this eventually.. Thank You again for all the help as always..
