Toyota 86 fuel pressure warning

Postby nobletech on Tue Jun 20, 2023 4:37 am

2013 Toyota 86
I spoke with an engineer at Motec USA and he logged into this computer and resolved most of my issues with software and firmware changes.
however, he states to test my wiring.

looking at the stock wiring diagrams and the loom data from Motec, I see the voltage supplied to the sensor appears to be from the starter input. A35-26 to the sensor and then from the sensor to analog voltage input 6 AV6.

from the surface, this is confusing?

and explains why my fuel pressure sensor voltage goes to default during the error

any help here would be greatly appreciated

Troy

Hi,

When we do kits like this, the aim for the adaptor looms is that they can just be plugged into the vehicle without any need to change the OEM wiring loom to suit, this allows for the OEM ECU to be reconnected if needed. As the area of wiring that you are discussing here is in the OEM Toyota loom, we will have just picked up the signal and retained the factory wiring to power the sensor. Why Toyota did it this way, I'm unsure, but it works in other Toyota 86's (this has been one of our most successful kits, so issues tend to be found a resolved with it) that use the Package.

Can you post information about the actual error that you are having so that it can be investigated.

I think you will find a few things-

1. Your wiring diagram varies a bit to the global variant:

When looking at Toyota diagrams, when the numbering/lettering is done at the ECU, it follows the ECU wiring logic, when at the sensor/actuator, it is referring to the sensor connectors. If you trace the whole wire for the VC (5V supply) for the fuel pressure sensor, you will see that it is commoned with the crank and map sensors, and goes to D-19/A36-19 on the OE ECU.
