M130 ID1050XDS Fuel Injector Calibration

Postby M-10 Ultra on Sun Apr 23, 2023 4:01 am

Hello,
I'm in the market to replace my ID1000 injectors in my SkiDoo 1200 snowmobile. Using M1 Tune Version 1.4.0.0286.

Does anyone know if the Injector Dynamics ID1050.1.0 calibration within M1 Tune is the proper calibration for ID1050XDS injectors. I ask because I see that the 1300 and 1300X are discrete calibrations, as well as the 2600XDS.

It's likely the correct calibration, but I'm hoping the good folks at Motec can confirm.

Thanks

Hi,

There is enough of a flow variance between the 1050 and 1050XDs that they do have different calibrations.

Thanks for the reply Stephen. Has Motec had their hands on a 1050XDS for characterization? If yes, are you able to add it to the M1 Tune software pull down menu via an update? Or should I arrange to get an injector in your hands through Motec USA?

Thanks.

Hi,

If you are happy to send an injector through for testing, I can get it processed. Looking at the data that we have, we have done the 1050, 1050X and 1050XD, but not the XDS. The existing calibrations have enough of a difference to require separate calibrations for each.

Stephen,

Admittedly, I’m not sure what the difference is between the various X-series injectors (X, XD, XDS), if any. Their website seems to blend them all together. http://injectordynamics.com/injectors/id1050-xds/

I sent a message to the folks at Injector Dynamics on the subject as well. In particular, I’d be getting into a 1050.48.14.14 injector, if that happens to bring clarity on your end.

Thanks

Hi Guys

To clarify, the ID1050 has always been an X-Series injector.

The recent designation of ID1050XDS relates to our improved Dual Slope matching process, helping to provided even tighter matched sets of injectors. The ID1050X and ID1050XDS are the same core injector, so there's not a different data set for them.

There ARE two different ID1300's, which is reflected by the two ID1300 injector characterizations in Tune.

Stephen,

I believe we provided you guys with an ID2600XDS, but I'm not sure we provided the 1050, early 1300, or 1700 that you guys characterized. I mention that because if we didn't provide it, I can't speak to where the injector tested falls in comparison to our spec for that part number.

We allow for +/- 2.5% spread from our advertised spec for a part number, but the 'sets' are matched to a much closer spread than that. So in the end it would be possible to test two new ID1050's and see up to a 5% spread across them in static flow.

If you guys would like, I'm happy to send a couple of each part number that flow right in the middle, that would minimize potential errors from what you test to generate data to what a customer might have. That's the only reason you should be seeing any variance across any ID1050 injector we've ever sold.

Great information Tony, thanks for chiming in on this thread. It would be great if Stephen and Motec take you up on your offer to characterize some nominal injectors.

Cheers!

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the Information, I'll take you up on that offer.

Looking at the data that we have for the 1050's there is about a 3% variance shown between the different calibrations, so we probably got some injectors from each end of the range when we did them.

Sounds good, I'll round some up and get them to Motec USA to get over to you guys.

I know we supplied you with the latest ID1300 and ID2600, so I'll get a 1050 and 1700 over to you.
