is the serial number of your M4 > 3000?

Did you use a striaght serial cable or a PCI cable?

What version of software did you go from and to?

Thanks.

We have experienced the same issue with our M4, I don't know which version they were going from or to but the result is the same. The serial # is greater than 3000, is there a method to reset the ECU back to where it was before? How do we fix this? I have attached a screen shot of the error message.

Hi,

Could you tell me what operating system was running on the pc that was used to upgrade the ECU, whether you were using a serial cable or a PCI cable and what connection on the PC you were using e.g. direct connection to the pc com port or a USB to serial converter.

One possible fix for this error is to connect the ECU to the PC as per normal and power it up but instead of opening the ECU Manager software go to C:\MoTeC\M4-v62 and double click on the Send.exe icon, this will launch a DOS window and should then resend the hex to the ECU.
If this does not work you will have to contact your MoTeC dealer and arrange to have the ECU sent back to us for repair.

The PC was a windows laptop using a USB to serial converter. The guy that did it said he was trying to upgrade files but accidentally went into the upgrade ECU menu. I can't try the fix at the moment since our car is at competition but I'll try it when they return.

I tried this last night and after the file loaded I was able to connect to the ECU. This fix works thank you.
