CAN Switch Setup

Postby kylenorsethBM on Wed Oct 26, 2022 12:01 pm

I'm looing for some help to setup a switch via CAN to toggle 2 different drive modes in an M1.

The switch sends a voltage signal to my AEM Dash (via AV Input) so the Dash can send a CAN message to the M130.

Switch to Dash
Steady Signal - 1.27v
Drive Mode (when button is pushed) - 4.98v

I setup the AEM dash to transmit the AV signal via CAN on ID 0x7F0 at 2 Hz Length 8 Position 0 (image attached).

I can see the AEM is transmitting the CAN message with a CAN Interpreter (image attached).

I setup the M1 resource as CAN 0 Offset 0 (image attached).

I have played with the switch setting but can't get the M1 to respond to the change. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

How do you have the Driver Switch configured?

I was trying to setup where my firmware had it but I think he wrote something custom? It wasn't in the Switch functions.

I was able to set it up in with the Driver Switch function but it only functions as a momentary switch. It switches modes only when I have the button pressed and then reverts back.

Hi,

If you change the Driver Switch x Type to Latching from Normal then the switch will latch on or off, toggling between the two states based off the button press.

The Maverick X3 Engine Mode Switch Resource is set to Firmware 10 in the base Package as it is receiving this information from the OEM CAN Bus, this is expecting that the state will be toggled by the device generating the CAN signal, not in the M1.
