Motec M800 running Siemens 2430cc Injectors?

Postby driftshop on Sun Apr 05, 2009 4:18 pm

Hey Guys,

I was thinking of running bosch 1600cc injectors with the provision of running E85 in the future when it is available at most petrol stations. I've been told by numerous sources that the Indy Blue 1600cc injector is discontinued by bosch.

I'm currently running 250.5 rwkw and 80% dutycycle on sidefeed 550cc injectors on a 1JZ at peak torque. In order push for more power, I need to upgrade my injectors. I've got all of the supporting mod to run a T51s turbo to around 25-30psi. I just need to upgrade the fuel pump and injectors.

My question is, would the motec m800 be able to retain some decent level of fuel economy with 2430cc injectors (lambda meter is connected & using a lambda table) and be able to tune for cold start and idle given the size of the injectors? I know the Bosch 1600cc can be tuned with the motec to make it almost factory, but 2430cc injectors are huge in comparison.

Are there any motec tables for these injectors?

Injector Specs:

Genuine Siemens DEKA IV Mototron 220lb/hour Low Impedance Gas & Flex Fuel Injectors ( Long Style )

These injectors flow 220 lbs/hr at 43.5 PSI ( 3 BAR ) and more at higher PSI! These units are low-impedance and require peak and hold injector drivers or additional resistors for saturation drivers. Despite the high flow rate, they are linear and controllable at low pulse widths compared to other extreme flow injectors! These injectors are sometimes referred to as 212lb/hr or 225lb/hr injectors.

These injectors will allow you to run methanol, ethanol and other flex fuels with fewer injectors for high horsepower applications. Don't settle for questionable modified high flow injectors when you can have Genuine Siemens quality and performance with these injectors. These injectors are perfectly suited for Extreme horsepower turbo & supercharger applications.

Features:
Genuine, reliable Siemens Injectors
Excellent response characteristics
Robust Design
Low Impedance
Fits in most Deka I, Deka IV Long Style, Deka V Long Style, & Deka VII Long Style applications

Static Flow Rate @ 43.5PSI ( 300kPa ) w/Gas: 220 lb/hr = 2433 cc/min
Offset: 0.64ms
Turn on time: 1.5ms
Turn off time: 1.3ms
Connector: Bosch EV1
Series: DEKA 4 ( DEKA IV )

I've had a look for indy blues, but i can only seem to get the CNG/Ethanol specific ones at a decent price. $125 - $145 Delivered. These have a white top instead of the blue top and flow 1600cc, however there have been reports that off shelf items need to be grouped and flow matched as there is a large varience from factory when used in petrol applications.

For the current setup on the 1JZ I will be using SARD 800cc injectors which have twin ports for the DOHC setup. That should net some good fuel economy and atomisation is the stream hits the hot valve.

I was going to use DEKA 850cc injectors however I have been told that their narrow spray pattern tends to soak the port divider in the head which can lead to richer than normal fuel mixture at high fuel flows as the fuel drips into the port. For a street application I figured the twin port sard would be ideal, whereas the single port setups would be a good compromise for a race application

Now my only delema is - High Impedance v Low Impedance Sard 800cc Injectors.

Which would you go for and why?

Low Imp: 0.75ms Lag Time
High Imp: 1.6ms Lag Time

Their is no reason that a low imp cant drive good on the street with a good ecu and return good fuel usage

My understanding is that a low imp injector will give better control

if you need help to find the blue indys just let me know

Thanks

I would be more concerned with the fuel pump than with then injectors!!!
