Fuel film problem SOLVED

Postby Mobne on Sat Sep 17, 2022 6:42 am

I have my engine tuned ok on steady state. No real lean spots and it runs good.
Fuel film works whell when running in gear.

Transient throttle situations with clutch pressed works flawless up to like 70-80% throttle. With 100% throttle input from 1000rpm engine cuts out completly at 5000rpm. Like its hitting an engine speed limit (which it don't).

This is a really responsive engine. Rpm rises really fast.

I have checked logs and can't see the engine management preventing it to rev. Lambda reads 2.5-3.0 so there is no combustion at all.

I have tried enriching the whole map at that area and it gives no response. Also tried some extreme numbers in the fuel film with no response.
I have not had this problem before and never experienced it.

Greatful for any advice.

You should post a copy of your M1 configuration.

I'll preface this with the fact I'm a relative novice at M1 wizardry, so maybe humor me a bit.... Is having secondary fuel film enabled when there are no secondary injectors causing the M150 to calculate something incorrectly?

Atleast for me, if i turn of the secondary the primary also turns off. So i can't do that.

I never said I was expert  May I ask, @180 minutes, do you know what's causing the 2 large excursions in the fuel volume compensation?

I still have the problem.

The needed fueling on free rev transient throttle conditions (no load) is much higher compared to when on load.

Did a street tuning session today. It’s running “well” on load and I feel the fuel film working well on transient throttle with gear engaged.
Not a perfect tune but it runs good enough and engine feels responsive and happy.

With this tune, if I free rev the engine with over 80% tps it runs so lean it won’t fire at all. Tps inputs under 60-70% get a little lean but still can rev.

I’m using a kind of “standard” fuel film setup. With no major differences.

I’m pretty sure this has to to with the ITB and map tuning. But the map signal is good and stable.
I guess if I can limit the throttle opening with clutch pressed this would not be that much of a deal.

I guess the guideline to not change the settings with in the fuel film and just adjust the primary scale don’t apply with ITB.
“Problem” for me was in the Fuel film primary trim engine speed.
It as “standard” have negative numbers over 2000rpm. My setup require positive numbers all over and increasing with rpm.
