PDM30+M880+cartek XR battery isolator

I’m new to programming and working with electrical stuff and need some advice on how to connect a cartek xr battery isolator to my pdm30/M880.
I think I like to connect the M880 engine kill signal to an output on the pdm so I can kill the engine with the start button and use the same output when I get the kill signal from the xr unit.
And use one input on the pdm for the kill signal from xr unit (12 volt when running and grounded when killed)
(Xr unit kill engine 50ms before shutting down the complete car)
Is this a correct way of using these 3 units in an smart way?
Due to the pdm 30 only has 16 inputs I don’t knows if I will have enough in the end so I don’t like to waste them more than I need.

sounds reasonable in general...

few more things that come to mind:
I would probably use CAN for the engine kill signal from PDM to M880 and don't waste a physical PDM30 output.

And I would configure the cartek kill signal within the PDM30 to be the master shutdown signal (don't know the correct motec term right now) as this will provide a convenient way to choose which outputs will be shut down in the emergency event. Probably cut off power from the ecu and from other stuff like fuel pumps, other pumps and maybe ignition coils. In this case you might not even need to interact with the kill signal from PDM to M880 because when you cut main power of the ecu then thats all you need. So the regular start/stop logic might stay independent.

Just to clarify: Within the first sentence I tried to suggest to use CAN for the regular start/stop of the engine (by startbutton) to make use of the engine kill function within the M880 for regular shut down of the engine, while the ecu itself still stays powered.

And then only in case of pushing the cartek kill buttons to shut down the whole system using the PDM30 master shut down function and therefore cut physical power of the M880 only in this case.
