OEM Wheel Speed Sensor Wiring

Postby MaxSorin on Tue May 24, 2022 2:28 pm

Hello all!
I am having a very peculiar issue with taking my wheel speed sensors from my s2000 that is on m150. So check this out, my idea was to splice in parallel with the abs unit wiring to take wheel speed sensors to get traction control for my car. For reference, the s2000 uses VR (mag, 2 wire) sensors for the wheel speed sensors. Now what I did was simply splice the the positive + wire into a UDIG on the M150 in parallel. Imagine putting a T in the wire, thats what I did... And it worked!!! But here's where things get real funky. I can wire in the Rear left wheel speed sensor and get a clean signal OR I can wire in the rear right wheel speed signal and get a clean signal, but the instant I wire them both in, the signal just disappears completely. Off the grid like it was never there. But at the same time, I can wire in ONE front wheel speed sensor and ONE rear wheel speed sensor and get clean signals. The signal only drops out when I try to wire in both rear speeds in or both front speeds in. Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Hi.

Do not splice into the ABS sensor wires. This is not recommended at all.

The only solution that will be offered for this is to remove the splices into the ABS wires and either read the CANBus information for the wheel speeds, or to wire in separate wheel speed sensors.
