cable sdl to pc

Hello
I have a dash board sdl (sdl 161 b)
could you tell me what sort of cable i need to connect it on my pc
I would like to change the process of the shift light
This dash board is on a Norma M20F connected with a life racing Ecu

It depends on the harness. It should have a USB connection and I would expect a USB bulkhead connector of some type (possible Autosport or Lemo). You can also access that over the CAN bus with a USB-To-CAN adapter (UTC). Not common, but possible.

Every Norma I work on seems to have the odd-ball connectors. I think the engineers in the VdV series like to have unique cables so that only they can work on the car -- some kind of weird french job security.
That looks like the same type of connector as the UTC uses, but the gender is wrong (the car would have sockets), so It may or may not be the CAN bus.

I would contact the previous car owner and ask about connection details.

Or if you want to figure this out yourself, do a electrical contuinity check with the SDL connector and the pins of that connector to see how they are wired. Might be USB, or CAN or Ethernet to the Life Racing ECU.

To avoid damage to any electronics, I would not attach anything to that connector until I knew what it was connected too. Why guess when it can be figured out.

After testing the car connector and the dash board connector i built a cable USB
And it works, i can communicate with the dashboard
