C125 Dash timing problem

Postby Jeremy on Wed Oct 27, 2021 3:54 pm

Can someone have a look at my c125 dash file, I can't get the live timing to work?

Have you got a log file from the dash you can share? It would help with the diagnosing, to see at least if the GPS data is coming in from the M1 correctly.

Hi,

When you receive the GPS data over CAN a special offset is needed, I have edited the attached config with the changes.

Thanks for the reply Sean.

I have attached the last log out dash using the config you edited.

The GPS data is coming in the wrong resolution, for example -3.3683595 where is should be -33.683595.
I attempted to change the resolution in your config file you uploaded, however it keeps going back to 7 decimal points.

Hi,

Try this version, I missed that the divisor had been set to 10 instead of 1 in the original configuration.

Absolute gold Sean, the last config file worked. Lap timing is now functioning.

While I have you, are you able to cast your eyes over my M1 file, it has been setup for GPS ground speed traction control. I personally don't think it setup correctly.

GPS estimate, which I only recently learnt is only used when there is a fault with wheel speed.

Ideally (could be wrong) GPS Speed Translation should be used for ground speed with a condition of more than 6 or 7 satellites in use.

What do you think?

Having done a fair bit of testing using GPS for the only Vehicle speed input, I would not use it for Traction or Launch Control operation. The update rate in transient conditions is just too slow for meaningful control.
