E888 CJC1

Postby Ralph on Wed Sep 15, 2021 10:38 pm

Hi all
running out of CAN slots on old ADL to bring in E888 diagnostics.
CJC 1 reads -53.6 on ADL
ambient temp is approx 18C
EGTS relevant (cold engine) read 17degrees C

Is that value of COLD Junction Comp 1 expected? (-53.6)

TIA
Ralph

Hi Ralph,

In the later dash CAN templates, the CJC channels have a Multiplier of 10, a Divisor of 1 and an Adder of -2000 to get the raw CAN data to align correctly, do you have this configured in your templates?

Thanks for your quick response Stephen.

As it turns out that in the ADL, I had allocated the CJC channel to a ExAV4(a wired but unused input).( more than a little silly)
Looks like I would need to have the expander diagnostics allocated to a CAN slot to read the actual CJC1 temp. (with your suggested multiplier and adder).

Unfortunately with the M800, and 2 PDMs I have no ADL-8 CAN slots left. Was just trying to confirm all the installation prior to have the engine running. If I need that I could reallocate a slot/ read /check/ then put back the original use. Looks like artificially changing the temp of the CJC sensor alters the 4 EGT readout temps. Thus system appears to but functioning( the CJC comp).

Thanks
Ralph
